Tabletop
I have never been one for white plates - too boring for my taste buds. Who said plates had to be so plain?
Don’t get me wrong - my color coordinated closet is for the most part dominated by white tops. But I like patterns and colors everywhere. This is why I have been loving Rosanna, Inc. tabletop collections for sometime. I have one of her sets - 4 lime green and chesnut brown classic...

Late Bloomer
Inspired by this Sartorialist Street Shot titled Late Bloomer…
Who says flowers are only for spring and summer? These pictures prove packing away your posies now would be way too soon. Keep your floral skirts and shirts and pair them with graphic dots or stripes and opaque plum tights. For added perkiness wrap on some fur or tweed so the blooms don’t freeze.

This Jcrew ad from a few years back made me go gaga for brooches. My mom always wore them. My grandmother always wore them. Luckily I “borrowed” some of these and incorporate them into my own outfits. Perfect on blazers, sweater sets, and coats - or even attach one to a headband to wear by your ear.
I even love these brooch bouquets.
Of course you can have a basic bow or pearl...

A lil' rusty
Jump on the rusty bandwagon… Bronzy earthiness is hot and looks good on anyone. It is a fresh fall brown neutral. I especially like it monochromatic but if you must - take hints from classy J.Crew and pair it with hot pink, royal or sky blue, and mustard.
with muted blue and mustard heels.

Sock Hop
As I continue to wish for more chilly fall weekends, I continue to do the summer - fall switcharoo in the closet. One thing I noticed I need more of - socks. Cute whimsical socks to peek out from under my corduroys or pair to wear with penny loafers. Here are some I found…

4 Eyes
I’m telling you what kids - if you want to be stylish in NYC you better make your way to the optometrist and get some large tortoise framed glasses and sport them with your long wavy hair. I saw this trend a little bit over the past few years - but man, everywhere I look in the city I see huge framed glasses on very beautiful people. Luckily, I got a new pair of leopard/polka dot...

New-Tell-uh
My very lucky sis-in-law is currently studying abroad in Florence. She just did a blog post over here about her and her roommate’s obsession with that amazing chocolate and hazelnut spread - Nutella.
Thank you Italy for sharing and caring for all of us in the world and creating such an amazing treat that can be used in so many different ways.
I have used Nutella in a number of...

Feeling Baking Inspired
I love to bake but now that we have the tiniest apt on earth with only a convection oven - I stopped. In Atlanta, I baked all the time bringing things into work or secretly indulging on them with Brad at home. It is fun to spend time making something cute that people love.
I also love fashion. Looking at all the colors and patterns are inspiring to me and I especially love seeing beautiful...

Coney Island
I really wanted to go to Coney Island this past summer but we just didn’t have the time. After waking up this morning and seeing the beautiful blue skies over Manhattan, we decided today would be the day to let loose and have some fun at a classic Americana place. The plan was to go to Nathan’s and have some dogs, ride the Wonder Wheel, and ride the Cyclone.
After the 1 hour subway...

Fur
Don’t pour red paint on me just yet. I don’t own any real furs - but it looks so cozy and soft and I feel so envious when I see a gal walking down the street with one. I know my coat is not doing anything compared to what her fur is. If I had extra money to spend some of these would definitely be hanging in my under-the-loft walk in closet in my tiny little apt.

Artist Inspired
I typically don’t take to modern art, but I really appreciate the movement and colors of Helen Frankenthaler. So much so that I wish my closet was filled with clothes like the paints on her palette. The colors are rich and deep and saturated and I love it.

LPD
Just the other day I told Brad, “Maybe I should wear more black.” Any of you who know me know that is an absurd statement from a color fiend. I thrive on bright colors. But here in the city, you just don’t see as much color as one would hope for. On my first day to work here I wore a lavender ruffle blouse with a peach and fuschia floral skirt and bright pink lipstick. ...

Cape Town
What do you get when you mix Sherlock Holmes, Little Red Riding Hood, and Superman? A very chic gal.
Of all the Fall 2011 must haves - I am most excited about incorporating this cape staple into my wardrobe. It is whismy meets curious meets adventurous - all while being super cozy. And it is classic - just picture Paul Varjak’s girl in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I couldn’t...
